They did do their own in JK1, quake engine is much better. It was a totally good move on their part in my opinion.

nah, quake sucks... start over with a different engine. This is just flying around like tards. Much like quake. I like my star wars to more real to the movie...and not more real to quake....

Its ok for single player but multiplayer its just as idiotic as quake arena. If you hit a guy in the back with a light saber, he has to die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!

this game is targeted towards 15 year olds who like quake...its soo obvious. The majority of the people who play this game are 15. Wich is sadd because there are alot of older star wars fans that grew out of the whole fast, arcade, simple minded, shootum up games...This game should only be on console....not pc.

Well, I'm 25. I've been doing the whole 3D gaming thing since it started. Allot of the other people I play with online are easily just as old as me, some older, some younger, so your "15 year old" comment is way off base to my experience. They did what they had to do, going with Quake was totally the way to go because Quake is a 10 year old l33t 3D gaming software, literally the best in the biz; & if they were to start all over again it would have been a huge step backwards.
If you don't like the way they have the settings, do a 5 minute read on JediPlus & change the damage settings to your liking. It's all I can recommend.

I don't really think Star Wars is the "place" for simulation...

i like the q3 engine, its not too hard on my sucky comp and provides easy editing, some games cant be edited cos if their wird file formats, so there will be no maps/skins/mods/models/anyhting for those suckers, unless someoen knows how to work wit those files

it is a place for simulation. I want the fighting to be like in the movie. This game is alittle more hyper then the movies fighting.

and also, people doing the roll because its faster is really lame...a bunch of jedis rolling around trying to get some flag...this doesnt do the movies any justice.
