The most modded star wars game ever?

The most modded star wars game ever? Is this the most modded star wars game ever? I thin it is , games like KOTOR are sad in comparission .

Re: The most modded star wars game ever?

They're not sad. In fact on the whole I'd say KotOR's mods are generally of much higher quality than JK3's. Considering it's a game that was never meant to be modded, I think that speaks highly of their modding community.

With a game where any 10 year old can pick up MSN paint and WinZip and throw together a pink Jawa, you need to take things with a grain of salt.

Re: The most modded star wars game ever?

Quality > quantity.

Although that said, I think I'll make a saturated pink Jawa reskin for KotOR, just to piss off Inyri.

Or mebbe not. That'd be blasphemy of the highest order.

Sounds like the beginning of a war?

There's not really alot of mods anymore(after several of the mod-sites went down, JK3Files being the only reliable one still up). But KotOR has a sea of mods, that has to be the most modded Star Wars game.

Re: The most modded star wars game ever?

KotOR is not the most modded game. It has nowhere near as many mods for it as JK3 does, and the two games are the same age.

Re: The most modded star wars game ever?

JK3 is not all boys with paint brush. There are plently of great mods of it and new maps. Such as yoda, darth vader, bush, lol etc etc . You get the point. Anything you want there is including sanford and son's home. HAHAAH

KOTR has hardly any new characters or new locations at all and I guess that is because it cant.

Re: The most modded star wars game ever?

KotOR does have the capability for new modules - surely you've seen the Coruscant Jedi Temple on KotORFiles?

I would also refer you to Ms Forge's excellent Recruitable Kay mod, which removes Juhani from the game and introduces a new character, Kay, with her own completely original sidequest system. It's Inyri's biggest mod, period, and certainly among the most elaborate I've seen for KotOR.

Map-wise, Dark Forces II leads the pack with well over 1500 maps. Mods are a different story. While JA has many more, a quick look over them has quite a few variations of infinite ammo, menu, HUD "mods". I'd hardly consider those real mods, but maybe that's just my DFII bias speaking. ;)

I believe that 'module' is unused game-packaged assets (probably the module used in that one cutscene) so it's not a 'new module'. Making custom modules was not possible at the time that mod was released. However it is now (see the Temple Beta by Quanon).

They're both old man! Why do you want to hang with a crinkly old man when you could be hanging out with cool dude Crysis or something.

Lightsaber combat - that's why.

Ye I try other newer games online but get bored of them and end up going back to jka

Because Crysis has just become an online cheat/ hax fest on most servers...
:(

Crysis is an online failure, period. Single player got boring after you completed it once.

Even JA can be more fun than Crysis in someways, and its much older.

Re: The most modded star wars game ever?

On the mod side, though, JA simply can't compare to newer engines like UE3 and CryEngine 2.

Hell, you could probably rebuild JA as a UT3 mod, and it'd be far superior on all counts, not just power and graphics. Would be far easier to build a full game on UT3 than it would to make even a few SP missions on JA, too, so like hell the mod community wouldn't want to transition.
