Jedi Master is like Juggernaut from Halo, Top Agent from Agent Under Fire or Gladiator from TimeSplitters, not King of the Hill.

I don't mind some laming rules like rules against chat-box laming, but I don't like it when people say I can't attack people with their lightsaber down. What if they use force lightning on me? Also, I was playing on one server where it was considered laming to attack people with their sabers UP

Not all servers are made for everyone.

In my opinion, in Slider's latest releases with the alternative dimensions for true FFAing, that might have been a good idea on paper, but in the end it just made things 10x more confusing for people who havent used it.

Probobly what was suppose to happen with dueling in basejka was to duel if you thought someone was really good and you wanted to fight them to see whos better in the middle of a FFA, otherwhise I dont think it was meant for servers to let people sit back and duel all day.

There still are some FFA servers out there, like BASEJKA for example. There are also some rented out servers that have JA+ but no admins on them so you could play on those too.

Generally the most popular servers are the ones with admins on them so they can keep the newbies happy. But otherwhise the true FFA servers are semi-dead because not everyone wants to FFA now.

Plus, to be honest, JKA is a very old game. If you think somethings wrong with the game, why not just purchase another game and move on. No ones paying you to sit here and play a game. Try a shooting game like call of duty or quake 4. I'm sure people like you would have more fun there, then here.

not only do you not play constantly, but learn how to play good, considering that most base servers are the ones the 1337 players play.

Just at the server select, beside where it sais game: switch it to "Jedi Academy", not "all" or "Ja+ 2.3 w/e"
JA+ servers suck in skillz and not true ffa's..

theres a few, play on some good servers..

Maybe we would play them...if there were any left. 9/10 serves are all JA+, and the rest are empty/other mods. Nothing to play anymore, cept Haxx-Kiddie mod.

Y'know, I've seen some good arguments, and I've seen some realy stupid arguments in this thread. And here's my take on the whole thing. I am currently in a clan that uses JA+. JA+ has lots and I mean lots of problems.

Hit boxes are messed up. Damages are off from base JKA. Lots of the crap moves that Slider thought would be ''kewl'' sucked balls. And the alt dimension needed alot of help.

But now, I've never seen an FFA server that was ''duel only''. I've seen alot of FFA servers that have the laming rule, but never ''duel only''. I've been playing this game for over a year, and been in many servers, and I've seen ''duel'' servers, and such. But never a FFA server that was ''duel only''.

But now onto the ''No Laming'' rule.

On our server, we made the rule because there are people who get bored of killing people all the time. Sometimes we want to duel, and other times we just want to chat. If the chat wasn't supposed to be there, then why did they put it on the game? "you're not supposed to sit and chat, it's a killing game'' is the stupidest response I've ever seen from a ''lamer''. We like to sit and chat because we've made friendships on the game. Our server gets alot of traffic to be honest.

My views on ''Laming'' goes as so. If you have to get a kill by killing someone who's just standing there, and then claim you're 1337, you're a laughing stock, and don't deserve to be playing in the first place.

If someone is new, and doesnt know about our rule, i'll let them know, then let them be. If they still do not choose to obey our rule, then they sit there. I dont kick. Thats pointless, leave them there, ghost them. They're extra traffic. Why kick someone that is there and bringing extra traffic for being there? If they spam, silence them.

I also will punish people who try to ''exploit'' the laming rule. Idiots that put their saber down in the middle of someone attacking them, deserves to die. It's their own stupid fault. And if they wana claim lame, i'll ignore them.

Basicaly, if you don't like our rules, you dont have to play there. If you want to FFA fine, kill anyone with a saber up. Or if we decide to have force powers, kill the people with force or saber up, or weapons. As long as you don't kill those who have opted to not be part of the FFA.

And if you can't accept our rules, don't try to force your own ideals down our throats. Why argue with an admin that this is an FFA and you can do what you want?

Technicaly, you don't own the server. Your'e not paying for the bandwidth, or server rental. So therefore, you have absolutely no rights except for the ones that we extend to you as a courtesy.

If you want a ''TRUE FFA'' then make a server or go find one. We of the ''NO LAMING'' community do not force you to play on our servers. But we do expect that you obey our rules. If not, then your dumb but deserves whatever punishment the admin deals to you.

Technicaly, you have no rights on someone else's server. So bitching, and claiming admin abuse, or ''LAMER'' or anything else on someone else's server is plain ''lame'' in my opinion.

If you want to chat rather than play, do it from spectator mode though. That way it completely removes any chance of "Laming".

Also you guys can grab each others e-mails, IMs and the like.
