| Hey, Sorry for having to ask but I couldent find a fourm based on what I had to ask. First of all, im a Old JKII Player who is thinking about getting into JKIII. Its been about 3~4 years sense I last played so im vary rusty. Recenty (and yes I know this seems dumb) downloaded JKII Demo to prep myself. Reason I havent downloaded JKIII demo is my current comp is too crapy to handle JKIII. Thus im getting a new comp (in general, my current one will probly crash any day now) any suggestions/advice and anything to prepare me for the switch, ty in advance. |

| Don't bother getting the game. The game isn't much better than JKII and the average server leaves too many restrictions of playing. Unless you're into skill-less settings such as fast force regeneration, sabers only with a ridiculous "Honor" Code while being on a mod that thus ruins the gameplay with horrible hit detection and exploited moves, this game won't be for you. |

| I agreed with you The_Twig but theres much good in the game 2, Like double bladed saber and stuff. And lots of great mods, well atleast if youre gonna get the game i think id suggest you to check out the mods of filefront for jkIII theres alot of models and stuff, to check em out and see if theres something you like and id suggest you to download the demo to check it out so you dont regreat youre self if youre gonna buy the game

Average server restrictions? FFA, or Duel. What kind of restrictions are there? Pick the one that allows what you want. As for "skill-less" settings, way to make inaccurate bias claim. Sabers take a vast ammount of skill. If you think otherwise, you obviously haven't gotten up to the level where they do. Force duels also take skill. Again, if you do not agree, you are most likely one of those players that cannot do it. The hit detection is fine. I play both Base, and JA+ MP and SP dmgs. I hate jk2 whiners who say otherwise when in nearly all cases, they haven't even tried it. JK3 is still an awesome game. Anyone who says otherwise just isn't good. |

| Can you argue your case without being a fanboy, please? The game is flawed from the ground-up, because Raven Software did a half-assed job and left it with a lot of bugs and errors. "Awesome" doesn't apply. "Good", sure, why not? "Cool", OK, I guess so. "Awesome"? No. Most of what Twig said is absolutely right. Those things themselves aren't the problems, though - the fact that everyone blows them out of proportion and then insists that they're not doing just that is the problem. There are idiots on both sides of the fence in this debate.

| I'm with Twig here. Most FFA servers these days consist of sabering and crazy force regen times. Just look at the movies...did yoda go around spamming force powers? Did he use it limitlessly? No, so it doesnt deserve to be that way in the game. A real FFA requires guns and real tactics, not just a mosh pit of sabers. I see some of yourpoint, it might take some skill and reflexes to be a saberist and a force prowess, believe me I was once one too, but all in all, the skill needed most is shooting. |

| Well, maybe if some people would, like, y'know drop JA+ and switch to JAE (or base, if you can go without an admin system) and switch their servers over to Siege, then try playing with some actual tactics rather than tried-n-true methods, the "glorious siege era" would come back? When JKFiles recently got a server, no one ever used it, and I'm entirely sure that this was because we used JAE rather than JA+ (the gameplay in JAE is exactly the same as base), and we played CTF with everything enabled rather than "duel/FFA" with nothing enabled. We had a choice - either turn the server into a pile of newblet crap like every other server using settings where anyone could feel they were leet despite having no skill whatsoever and winning via a glitch move caused by messed up coding, or get rid of it. We chose to get rid of it. It looks like CTF is just as dead as Siege, so don't worry yourself over it. You're not the only one who's been muscled out of the game just because you prefer playing real games rather than watered-down crap as a "leet haxor nub".

| I wouldn't say that siege is dead. Thanks to Movie Battles II siege is quite active, even though it's not the kind of siege that baseJKA supplies. |
