Help with reinstall

I just reformatted my hard-drive and now i want to go play DoD source which i do own. After reinstalling steam and HL2, I found that putting in my DOD Souce CD it wont even try to auto run and then there is not way to start setup. Plus Steam is insisting i just redownload a 755 mb game. I'd rather use the CD I "payed" for though. Any one got any Ideas?

Re: Help with reinstall

Possibly you have your auto run function disabled. All you have to do is open 'My Computer' and right click the correct Disc Station (for example E), from the menu select option 'autorun', you can also simply doubl click the disc drive icon. These operations will bring up the Day of Defeat: Source setup.

This happened to me with HL2:EP1. I put the disc in but it wouldn't read the disc. It didn't think anything was in the drive. I tried both the drives on my computer. Didn't work. I had to enter the CD key into Steam and download it.

Are you sure that you can't run the DVD manually although it worked fine before? Maybe something is happening with your drive? Mine was for some reasons not reading DVDs a couple of times last week.

Make sure your drive can read DVDs. It also doesn't matter about the disk, the game is the same off Steam and the disk, the disk just means you don't have to download it.
