Installing Error <Details Inside>

1 Attachment(s)
Firstly heres my computer specs:

Pentium 4 Processor: 2.20GHz
RAM: 768MB
DirectX 9.0
40GB Hard Drive
SiS 650 32MB Graphics Card (will be upgrading this if the game ever works)

Anyway, when i go to install half life 2, i only get up to the part where you choose the directory for it to be installed into, then i get an error message saying that i need to be on an administrators account (see picture below).

However, i only have 1 user account on this computer and it is the administrator account, so why is the error lieing? lol.

So if anyway can help me or have any ideas/hints/clues i would really apreciate it, Thanks.

I'd check for viruses, spyware and adware, since your system could have been hijacked.
Also, create a new account with admin rights and try again. If it works, just start using that account and dump the old one.
Last, but not least, your graphics card is pretty useless for HL2. It may not even run.

Re: Installing Error <Details Inside>

Thanks for the reply,

Ive already made a few other new accounts as admins, still says the same thing. Im just running a virus scan now.
As for the graphics card, when i know the game works on my pc i will by a new one. Its just annoying, when you spend *40 on a game you expect it to work straight away.

While i was writing that 1 virus has been detected already, lol.

Yeh so thanks, if none of these work then ill try wiping my computer, hopefully that should do the trick, pain in the ass though, ill wait and see how the virus scan goes.
