No console in some HL2 mods
 

In some of my mods, the console won't show up. Ive tried playing with shortcuts, but whenever I add the "-console" line to the target, it either says "gameinfo.txt cannot be found at c\: program" or it starts up the unmodded version of Half-Life

yeah i had that to. Make a virtual drive of that dir C:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\sourcemods\whatever\ . Subst works like this:

click start, run, and type:

subst z: "c:\program files\valve\steam\steamapps\sourcemods\whatever"

instead of Z: you can use any drive. Just make sure it doesnt exist yet. What subst does is simply create a fake hard disk which is gone when you restart your pc. Steam sometimes has a problem with spaces (" ") in a dir name.

Hmm...that didn't work. Maybe I'm not doing it right. All it does is flash a little black box on the screen. Are there any other ways to make it work?

well you should first go to cmd. And then type it. (sorry i forgot). Then it will tell you what you did wrong and stuff. If you want help with it type

subst /?
