Mod project -- Distortednetworks. Ok well i've been searching around various fourms/irc channels posting about getting a mod team assembled for half life 2. This project would be a really great project to get off the grounds. Here is my idea. You know the tron light cycle games where you are in the motor cycle and you create a wall to hopefully trap your opponent to crash into right? Well my concept would be somthing similar to that. Instead of walls, opponents will try to kill eachother with various guns, where powerups can be picked up at random times in the givin level. The level itself would be a sphere, and just to keep it interesting, the sphere's would vary per map (duh?). the game would be based on a cyber theme. A list of people we are looking for to join us in this project are as follows. artists Programmers extremely fluent in c++ with valve's steam source engine Sound design with audio, for SFX and whatnot A/I programmers for singleplayer based gameplay and finally level designers. I will be straightfoward and say this project wont pay you (cannot afford it, else I would). and will take an estimated year to complete, so people with time on their hands is key. If interested, please reply to this post OR email me at distortednetworks@gmail.com If you do not apply but know someone that does apply to any of these positions, please have them contact me. Also spread the word if you will as I promise this project will be one of the best mod's for competitive gameplay you will ever see. Thanks. |
Re: Mod project -- Distortednetworks. As the sticky says, what is your position in the mod? |
Re: Mod project -- Distortednetworks. the project manager/lead website content manager. nice sig ya got btw =) |
Re: Mod project -- Distortednetworks. Thanks. All I can say is good luck. From my experience, mods started by modders have more chances to get released than those started by "mod leaders". ;) Also, you said "we". Quote:

Re: Mod project -- Distortednetworks. i will keep that in mind, i do know a bit of mapping and stuff but the coding part is what i lack at. plus i havent modded anything before so i dont like to call myself a 'modder'. |
