If you were your own country, how would you design your military? What weapons and vehicles would it have. How many soldiers would you have? How would you recruit? What training would you offer? Lets say you have unlimited money and everything else in your country is good. Just focus on the military. Before you post, please think it through and do some research.

Ground Defence Forces

MBT: T-90S with NATO 120mm (access to better ammunition). 1000hp multi-fuel gas turbine.

APC: LAV Gen III in all its variants. Weight limited to 16 tons max. Variants to include APC, ADV, MGS, Mortar carrier, Cargo, Ambulance. All must be amphious, air deployable, and air transportable in C-17 Globemaster III cargo aircraft.

Scout/Recon: 4X4 armored amphibious vehicle similar to a LAV-150, M1117 Guardian, or Dragoon V300 equipped with XM101 CROWS turret.

Utility Transport : Modern version of WW2 Schwimwagen, aluminum hull, modern boxer motor.



Aircraft:

Fighter: Two seat, fly by wire, all weather day or night capability. MiG-29 or F/A-18 Hornet. Must be able to operate from primitive conditions.

ECM/ECCM: EF-18G Growler or a MiG-29 comparable version

Secondary Fighter/ Light Strike: Single seat all weather day or night light fighter/strike aircraft. VTOL capability. Must be able to operate from primitive conditions. Thinking Harrier II GR.9 or F-35 VTOL.

Close Air Support: A-10C Thunderbolt II

Cargo: C-17 Globemaster III (STOL capable, 170,000lb cargo capability, replaces C-130 and C-141).

Aerial Tanker: A KC-17 aerial tanker based on the C-17 airframe

AWACS: EV-22 Osprey with E-2 Hawkeye 2000 package.

Light helicopter: UH-60 Blackhawk.

Medium Helicopter: OV-22 Osprey and H-92 Superhawk

Heavy Helicopter: HLR/CH-53X helo able to carry 30 ton payload for 50 miles.

Scout Helo: Boeing MD530 with the COBRA sensor pod (Basically repackaged LONGBOW)

Attack Helo: AH-1Z with COBRA sensor pod.

My Army is already outfitted to operate in such a enviroment.

You will notice I specified amphibious capabilities on many of the vehicles and a tank in the 40 ton range for lighter weight and aircraft required to operate in unprepared conditions.

I want my recon/scout elements to keep going and withdraw with no problems if under fire. None of this pull up to a river bank and take 20 min to erect floatation gear bullshit. Drive in and drive out
