| If forced to have an army, (which I wouldn't have more than nominal defences because I believe that war is a horrid thing. But I'll buff it up here since it'll be more interesting), I would spend most of my resources on air and naval power and the least on ground forces save for a self defense force, since I wouldn't want high civilian casualties on either side. For ground forces, I would spend most capital on special ops since the modern war is far different from ones passed since diplomacy is a ever growing factor and alternative (I refer mostly to dealing with terrorism and fanatacism), and special ops could get the key operations done that may be needed to be done. Overall, my military doctrine would be 85% focused on defense and 15% on offense.

3% of population on active service, with a large percent being professional and a small percentage of drafted for reason of skills in a non-combat oriented role. Army would be based around the airborne, being deployed with BMD-3 being dropped by IL-76's, with the rest being Motorized based around BMP-4's and T-72BM's. Infantry of the airborne and motorized would be armed with AK-101's, SVDK's, Airforce would be based around long range bombers TU-22M's and MiG-31M interceptors. The nation's armed forces would be cheap and effective, being backed by a well trained professional army.

| BMP-4 isnt that the one based on old T-55 hulls? kinda like a heavily armored APC? Good choice on the BMD-3, What is different or better than the BMP-3? The MiG-31 seems like a odd choice due to its limited role. I would have expected you to choose a more multi role platform like a MiG-29/35 or a SU-35.

| i myself would take a look at all of these terrorist groups and have small numbers of highly trained groups ranging from 10 - 40 people equiped with g36's and mp5's depending on the area they are operating in each with several frag grenades and either smoke or flash bangs. they would go on tactical raids as they will be short sharp attacks on who ever is attacking as i believe that even if you have a military power you gota be prepared for the day when you are over thrown you may think i am mad but aren't we all
