Default F35 Lightning II

What are your thoughts on this brand new fighter jet that soon will be replacing F16 or the F18, if I'm wrong, please correct me.

I think the F-35 has some very big shoes to fill and has alot to live up to.

I am very excited about the USMC VTOL/STOL version and the Naval version.

It is definately very capable and has lower radar cross section than its predecessors.

I'm waiting to see it in Canadian Forces colours, which is pretty much grey with a darker grey maple leaf, but still. We'll see if Canada actually goes with it, we always seem to replace our stuff after quite a while. Though the CF just bought 4 C-17s.

A helluva plane. If it lives up to be simply an equal to what its replacing it will be a world class fighter bomber, If it turns out to be an IMPROVEMENT, well thats just icing on the cake. Streamlined production and wide adoption could see this thing filling a lot of nations air forces and not for a large amount of cash. Interesting service name though, the F22 was slated to be the Lightning II a decade ago.

CANNON, n. An instrument employed in the rectification of national boundaries.

Ah, I recently went to an airshow and they had a huge display of information on this, one beautiful plane. If this works out the way its planned, well, things go to a new level.

And Australia is purchasing $12 Billion worth once its ready! Hell.. maybe Ill have finished my studies then, and be there in time to choose the F35A as a specialisation!
