According to this, it seems like an M35/40, since the inside is completly different in the M35/42! :o

But the ventilation holes seems like the M35/42!

Maybe an M35/42 with the inside of an M35/40? :|

I still need help!

The helmet is either a M35-40 or an M35-42 from the Heer.

Can anyone with some gun-skills point out if that ammo belt is for 7.92mm or 7.62mm rounds? MG34/42 or MG3?

And that signal thingy? Can anyone else recognice it from WW2?

the helmet is a M42, you can tell by the rolled out flared edges, as well as the look of the vent hole... nice items you have there buddy :naughty:

Good find! :)

The design is different than on mine, and that means mine is either not a german from WW2, or just another design! :uhm:

Takk skal du ha, min danske venn! :)

No, but I will make a suggestion. Take it to an engineering shop and have them measure the diameter of the cartridge.

Well. I measured the length of the empty shells. They were 57mm long, and while 7.62mm NATO ammo is 51 (or was it 52?)mm long, I think it means that they are 7.92mm German rounds, since they orginaly were 57mm long! :D

Remove the leather helmet insert and look for a forged stamp inside and post what you find or take a pic of it if you find it.

The first helmet looks like a reproduction, especially because of the liner.

I doubt it.
My Grandfather gave it too me. Had found it in Narvik (where he lives). My grandfather has never lied to me, nor has he ordered things over the internet, therefore I doupt its an reproduction.

Care to tell whats wrong with the liner? After what picture I have found on the internet, it pretty much looks the same.

And the numbers inside the helmet:
Its very hard to see, but I think its saying:
EF6
2971

There may be a number after the "6", but I'm not sure. And the "71" is hardly noticeable.

What does the numbers means? http://forums.filefront.com/images/s.../confusedx.gif
