I concur ....it looks ok to me too. And I still think the T-34/85 was the most balanced tank of the Second World War. I'm getting me one of them bad boys too!

Yeah I would nt mind having a T-34 of any kind in the garage. A guy I used to do minature armor wargaming with, his dad has a M4A3 Sherman but it has no guns. They have been trying for years to get a permit so they can restore it to full WW2 combat ready status.

Hmm... any English translation available?

Oh, Mihail, Kursk wasn't just the largest battle of armour, but the largest battle, ever.

However, it technically was't one large battle, rather a series of smaller engagements. Orel and Prohorkovoka are two obvious exceptions.

Well what do you expect our former enemies to write about? About their losses? Is it actually written by a veteran or a "scientific commision on WWII battles"?

And about the tank, that would be IS-3. After the war, it was considered the best tank in the world, until 64 (when T-64 came out)

If I had to select the best Russian AFV design of WW2 I would go with a shocking and much contested choice.

I go with the T-44. Why you ask? Didnt officialy see combat in WW2 but some pre productions versions were put into combat in Ukraine to see how they operated in combat.

This tank was to replace the T-34 and is significant in that almost all modern Soviet tank designs can trace their lineage to this tank.

It was mechanically unreliable when it came out but it was revised and improved, given a new turret inspired by the IS-3 mounting IMHO the best Soviet A/T gun of WW2 , the D-10 100mm gun and was renamed the T-54. At the time the T-54 was as good if not better than anyhting in the world except the Centurion with the L7 105mm gun.
