Internet for the psp

Hi I just got the new psp 3000 and everything is working fine. The only thing i don't get is the internet security. I have seen video's of how to connect to the internet i have followed their steps but it says the same thing everytime.
A connection error has occurred.
A connection to the access point could not be established.
Check the security settings for the network and try again.

What does this mean? do i have to put in a password?

Any help would be appreciated.

When you set up your connection to you wireless internet, did it say there was security on it? If so, did you choose the right encryption (e.g WEP) and put in the correct password for it (e.g WEP , then P455W0RD)?
Even if you complete setting up the connection, it won't actually work unless you do it right.

Or maybe it's as simple as the signal is weak. Try setting it up again, make sure you know your router's password if you have one (and if you don't have security, I'd recommend learning how to put it on, it's really easy and worth it, trust me).
