My praises to abcba, it finally works for me, actually it seems to work for everyone who had the after logo crash! ![]() Installing the dll pack and stuff didn't work tho, I had to put the dll to the game dir for it to work.. Are you all doing it this way? Anyhow, hey it works, now let's play!

HATE9X, what version of WowLoader did you use? Can you please check for me if your .map files in <halo 2 install dir>/maps/ are .map, or .maptnptemp? That may help solve our problem here.

The files are *.map. Sorry to keep you waiting, was too excited to try the game out a bit.. |

It's ok - I perfectly understand your excitement. I will re-install the game (delete everything and try again), and I'll post here with the results.

Ok, wish you luck.. ![]() I personally never had the *.maptemp problem & don't know the cause for that.

Unfortunately, I have re-installed the game and the .maptnptemp files still persist. Does anyone know what this problem might be?

Intriguing... when I re-installed Halo 2 again, I noticed that it converted the mainmenu and shared .map files after installing all of them as .maptnptemp files. I wish there was some way to keep converting the other files, since that is my only obstacle to playing this game...

CoCreateInstance is a COM function, used for initializing DirectX. I don't know why that would happen to you (perhaps you have a bad version of DirectX 9 on your PC?), but that's all I can get out of it.

I'm having the exact same problem as mileso. The black cmd box shows up for a few seconds and then it closes. If anyone's encountered this b4, please tell what u did to get around it. Thanks!
