Thank you! This completely fixed my activation problem. :)

Hello there, and thank you all for your help so far!

Here is my problem:
I installed Halo 2 successfully on Windows XP Corporate Edition using WowLoader-0.2. The main menu works perfectly and everything, no texture problems or whatnot.

However, like icec, I cannot load any missions (either in Campaign or Network modes). After looking in the Task Manager, I noticed that the memory allocation for halo2.exe was jumping around, staying within 1 MB or so. Thinking that this was a file loading error, I looked in <Halo2 install dir>/maps/, and lo and behold, I noticed something odd - the maps were named <mapfilename>.maptnptemp!

I assume that the TnPCacheEngine (on the DVD) is a De-compression utility so that Bungie could fit the game on 1 DVD. I believe that icec and I are experiencing the same problems - namely, that the maps are not being de-compressed properly and therefore cannot be loaded.

I tried renaming these files to <mapfilename>.map and Halo 2 gave me an error, saying, "Please insert your original Halo 2 disc", so I believe this is the root of our problems.

Please, any assistance in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.

0.2 works perfectly for me when installing the game. However, I do not know if 0.2 is what causes the .maptnptemp problem I describes earlier.

Perhaps trying it with the original WowLoader might work well...
