| Your specs are fine. You will certainly be able to run it. Your connection should also be fine as long as you have a while in which to do so.

| I got the game running further while windowed & passive.. I don't get why my mouse & keyboard should cause any problems with the game.. This is crazy.. O.o I might try this with another mouse and plug my own mouse & kb off.. I'm not gonna buy a new keyboard & mouse set just to play this game on XP (or actually i'm on server03, but other ppl with this os have gotten it to work) though so it's not a solution.. I've got all D3DDXDLLs & xinput stuff installed too.. |

The mouse/kb/controller issues was merely speculation on my behalf. At any rate, I'm not gonna offer support on the behalf of MS. In fact, if they wanted to they could make the game XP compatible in less than a day, and that's assuming the source code doesnt already contain such code. |

| Finally got it to work, bloody legend abcba you were spot on with the xinput9_1_0.dll file. And thanks jouissance for the link. I used the Oct2005_xinput_x86.cab which contains the correct version as abcba pointed out. I got to the Live sign-in screen but was able to create a new account, and after that it was all good ![]() Doesn't run as good as I'd hope to be but I am using my laptop after all cheers again for your efforts abcba. |

| abcba - THANK YOU. That actually did the trick. All I was missing was the dll that you listed. Now the game works perfectly!!! I signed up just to say that. If you have those crashing problems when its showing the halo 2 loading, get the dll, put it in your halo 2 directory, and enjoy! |

Yes, I had closed the game and re-inserted the disk, multiple times, nothing happens. Running startup.exe from the disk with the loader doesn't bring up the activation menu either. Neither does choosing to play the game or install the game (from the startup.exe on the disk). I have a legit and unscratched disk, why isn't anything coming up? Does the activation menu actually come up for other people? |

| i'm getting an annoying texture flicker on anything shiny (new mombasa in title screen, MC's armor, cortana, elite's armor, etc...). on vista i updated my driver to fix it, but any driver i've tried besides the apple one (which i'm currently using) gives me either unbootable xp or a blue screen. any ideas, anyone? |
