The top line is the map file you want to mod. Click the floppy disk icon and browse through your Halo maps directory and select the map that the mod is for. Then click the bottom floppy icon and put in the .ppf file (note: you may need to select "all files" at the bottom when searching for map files).

So if you had a bitmaps.ppf, you would put your bitmaps.map in the top one and the bitmaps.ppf in the bottom one. Click "Apply" and you'll be all set. It will tell you to burn it to a CD or something, but just disregard that.

Hope this solves your problem.

Just put the new map in your Halo maps directory and replace the original.

You already have bitmaps.map. It's in your Halo maps folder. Most mods you download will come with a ppf file for the map and one for the bitmaps. Just apply them the way I told you.

You don't need to replace it with anything, just drag it int your halo maps folder. You only replace(BVack-up if You do) If you download a modded version of a Map, say, Bloodgulch, then you replace a map.

To Zero-If you didn't have the Bitmaps File in your folder, Halo would not run at all mt friend. Same with teh sounds file. They are almsot the most important files in the game. yes, indeed. Now, if you downloaded a Modded version of the Bitmaps.file, make sure you back up the original version of the file, so the game will run without mods, or you will have to re-install the game.
