I'm a rather new modeller when it comes to Halo: CE, but I've got some experience with basic models, although I don't think any would work on any game. I'm currently modelling a vehicle for a large map I may request in the longrun and I do not have any skill in skinning and I'm not sure what Halo: CE needs in terms of model size, weapon scripting, and movement scripting. The model I'm making is going to be larger than the Mythos on Coldsnap (a little larger as I don't know the maximum size for vehicles, but heck, Extinction has a Scarab so it can't be that small of a limit, BUT, it's not going to be THAT big)...and the way it looks, I might need help with the model itself, it's being modelled on Gmax and it'll need interiors or the map can have some kind of scaffolding that will let a player get on top of the vehicle and move to the appropriate spot, and of course, the player has to exit the vehicle on the outside as I don't plan on adding an interior, that'd probably cause MEGA lag. I'm only asking for a little help on this, and for the skin, it is a basic UNSC color job, I'll post a picture of the model when I get finished.
There's supposed to be 1 pilot and 4 gunners, they get in via the turrets themselves. And for some more specific ways the skin should look, the cockpit is near the top of the front, just near the upper section (it's actually a little less sloped than the nose of the craft. The sides should have the model number and the turrets have a slot for the barrels to move up and down. The ship will be floating a little bit off the ground (it's made to hover). There should be an armor plating texture and a headlight texture on the main front of the nose. Of course, the coloring is similar to the Scorpian since it's the same armor materials, just thicker. The barrels should have a darkening on the side near the tip to emphasize firing scarring (as I call it, I dunno what it's called). And for the firing speed (incase someone wants to help script it) should be double the normal to emphasize twin barrels, but it's really a chain linked firing of the cannon, 1 barrel to the other. Now if the thing flips...you might have a problem unless a player can get to a spot to flip the HUGE thing over. The engine glow can be easily taken from the Longsword and placed on the landship's engine...which should be painted black like all engine ports. If possible, adding a dusting effect under the Titan to emphasize the air cushion effect...only if Halo: CE can handle that without the infamous Scarab lag. The tower-like part is just as it is, a tower for decoration. Snipers have to take special care in their aim to hit the pilot and/or gunner. Ok, I'll add more when I get more ideas.
