Halo 3 PC?

So here we finally have it a big fat H3 confirmation and a lil movie to keep us going. But when are we going to have it on the PC. Microsoft are sure to keep it restricted to the 360, For now. When do you think that theyll release it on PC 2, 3 years H2 is still not leggaly on PC. So what of the next sequal?

I don't think it is a question of if, but when. MS is putting about 2 years between console relese and PC port. I would say 2009 for halo 3 on the PC, unless MS included emulators to make your PC into an xbox 360 with vista. Then you would have halo 3 in 2007.

If Halo 2 for PC is due in 2007(I think) then that's is 4 years.

Why are we discussing Halo 3 for PC before it even has a set release date for the Xbox 360 version? I think some people are just getting a little carried away with the hype about the trailer vid...

Well its got to happen some time within the next few years - the 360 release - at the least. I do agree that it will be a long wait to say the very least. MS will stretch the releases of major games, Vista and future plans out over a long period of time its to do with the product life cycle - they have to have profit coming in all the time. shme huh.

The Xbox 360 release of Halo 3 is set for some time in 2007. That could mean literally any time between January and December. If Halo 3 PC ever comes out, it will most certainly not be for a number of years after that (Halo 1 PC came 2 years after the Xbox version, Halo 2 PC isn't even out yet, probably won't be till 2007). I really don't know why we're discussing this. I would close it, but technically speaking, there's nothing wrong with it by the rules. Damn technicalities...

Anywho I think that Halo 3 PC probably won't come out. Also, since Halo 2 isn't being developed for XP, that means that XP users are screwed. Sucks for us!!! Stupid Vista with its wizbangs and its whatcha-ma-call-its.....

Anyways, back on topic, just a thought. Imagine the SPECS for a game like Halo 3 PC. Prob a 6800 GT or X800 XT would be MINIMUM. It would also prob need a Min 3.4 GHz (or equivalent), and 1 Gig of RAM just to run smoothly.

Videoslave, that doesn't pertain to Halo 3 at all. If you wanna discuss Half-Life 3, do it in your own forum, or at least make a thread in General Gaming about Halo 3 vs. Half-Life 3. I do look forward to HL3, though.

Good call. It's about time people around here showed some maturity.

Oh, and a 6800GT or X800 XT won't nearly be good enough for Halo 3 PC. Halo 2 will be on Vista, which will require DirectX 10, and that's not even supported by those cards. If Halo 2 has such high requirements, I can't even begin to imagine what Halo 3 would take.

Well first off, those cards would be obsolete when H3 comes to PC (also, 1 terabyte cards become standard on PC's, Directx 13 would be out, and first stage Vertural Reality games will be released .) Now on to H3 PC, I hope there's co-op on it with custom maps (ie kinda like DooM 3's LMS mod check out http://lms.d3files.com for details as to what I'm trying to say) I frankly am non-to-thrilled with the lack of co-op on Halo, or the aparant imposiblility of making single player maps co-op ready. But we really shouldn't be talking about PC before the X-box version and H2 PC come out. then we can see what needs to be done to make H3 a good PC game. (oh yeah I forgot, cheats. I don't use god mode btw, i'd only use infinite ammo cheats and all weapons fire rockets... hmm that would be fun. bloody, but fun. I guess if you turn on that mode, you'll need godmode Oh, and flamethrower in single player. <<Flood)
