Default HALO 3, full of suprises

In the trailer (massive teaser) i clearly saw Master chief holding a Assualt rifle. Which got me thinkin, what other things will be making a reappearence or new thing will be making a red carpet entrance.

What happens to the Battle rifle? is it being replaced by the Assualt rifle? or is the Assualt rifle replacing the SMG's? and maybe we will be able to use the holy Flamethrower this time round.

I don't think the Flamethrower will make the cut (just like in Halo 2, too hard to integrate) The return of the original Assault Rifle tickles me 37 pinkish colors. If we saw a return of the pistol from Halo 1, now THAT would kick major ass. CAN I GET A HELL YEAH FOR THE PISTOL!?!?!? (Covers ears)

No, I'm sorry, you can't. The pistol in Halo Combat Evolved was WAY too powerful, especially in multiplayer. A pistol should be just a pistol, not a combination of sniper rifle/rocket launcher. You could kill a fully shielded Spartan in 3 or 4 headshots. It's unrealistic.

Some weapons I would like to see in addition to the ones in Halo 2:
-MA5B (Classic assault rifle)
-MA2B (More compact version of assault rifle, 50 round clip and smaller size, mentioned in Halo: The Fall Of Reach)
-Combat knives (Like a human equivalent of the energy sword)
-Flamethrower (Seen in Halo PC multiplayer, but probably not going to happen)
-Remote or Proximity Mines (Explosives you can lay down that will explode when an enemy comes near or when you trigger them)
-TRUE Magnum pistol (The H2 pistol was NOT a Magnum. A real Magnum would have a very slow rate of fire but pack a shitload of power per shot)
-Minigun (Portable Gatling-type multi-barrel gun, like those on the back of the Warthog. Obviously, it would have to be made so that ammo is very limited due to the enormous rate of fire and damage)

I like the way you think Jesus, In addition to those weapons, I'd like to have:
The Jackels sheild (make it a duel wield only and limited effect)
SP fuel-rod gun (same limitations and include a self-destruct if over-heated)
Multiple fire-modes on human weapons (MA5B-Semi, Full-Auto, 3-round burst vs SMG with Semi, Full-auto)
Some weapons that have interchangeable ammo (ie MA5B can take rounds for MA2B)
A grenade launcher on the MA5B and/or the Battle-Rifle (just for kicks)
Throwing knives (silent and deadly)
A human Plasma gun (early prototype, not as powerful as Covie plasma, but reloadable)
A human uber-gun (too little, to late for humanity, but very deadly and can take down a group of Brutes in 1 shot but ammo will be rare)
and finaly (vvv not a spoiler, just there for dramatic value vvv)
Spoiler:
an 8-gauge double-barreled-shotgun (maybe this could be the uber-gun)

Same to you; I like the way you think. Alt-fire modes would be really sweet. Ooh, and maybe the rocket launcher could have alternate rounds as well, like armor-piercing shaped-charge, or high-speed, or a seeker-tipped rocket...all depends on the situation. AP rounds would be good for heavy vehicles like tanks or slow dropships and stationary turrets, high-speed would be better against troops and smaller light vehicles like Ghosts, and seeker-heads would be good against Banshees and other quicker aircraft. I like where I'm getting with this...

Also, maybe the assault rifle could have alternate rounds too, for that matter...in the books, it's mentioned that the AR can fire two different kinds of rounds, armor piercing and something else...I'll look it up. I like this idea.

i personally would hate the assualt rifle to replace the battle rifle or smgs. assualt rifle like bungie said in the halo 2 collectors edition dvd it just doesn't act like a real rifle would. If they you can toggle between fire modes on the assualt rifle like single shot, burst and automatic that would help make it a little more realistic. And the battle rifle (personal favorite) would stay the same like burst with a scope but they could add a grenade launcher on it like the FAC-16 in PDZ.
And i would be stoked if this time round you can move a stationary gun around to get better vantage points. And i have said this once before about a two seated ghost, like a standard ghost with one seat facing forward and the other facing backwards so some one else can shoot from behind with what ever gun they have. More destructable environment would be nice, like in GRAW shooting through walls of a certain thickness. and Master chief to have a prone position. Oh and getting back to the battle rifle if not a grenade launch at least DU(Depleted Uranium) tiped bullets that can pierce enemy armoured vehicals making them easier to destroy.

Theres alot of stuff i would love to see in the game but ultimately it is up to Bungie what makes the cut and doesn't but then again its good talking about what could be.

I really hoping to see new weapons on bothsides, maybe the covenants answer to the shotgun.

I really want to know more about MCs new gauntlets, and what is the jet pack looking thing on MCs back really for? its always been something i look at and don't understand why its there.

That would be the suit's power source(i think).Ya,they told us in the book that it needs a power source for the shield and other things it can do like make you faster,stronger and stuff.Also what if the gauntlets upgrade him some how.Like what if it upgraded his shield or his radar or maybe gave you back that health count like in Halo 1.

Definitely the Assault Rifle, right before the Master Chief drops the weapon into his other hand look at the readout on the back of the weapon.....

All I wish is that they make the Assualt Rifle accurate, for pete's sakes, you could hit nothing with that thing in Halo 1.... though I did like its looks...
