The last Spartan..... I think not!

Just got finished reading the book trilogy...... what happens to Will, Fred, and Linda? At the end of the book the four spartans make their way to earth. I haven't played the campaign on Halo 2 to know if this is answered, so could someone 'splain? :confused:

I haven't read the books but teaming up with another spartan to defeat the covenant would be hmmmmm... not bad, but then there will be you jumping between 3 characters(4 plus Johnson and 5 plus Miranda) and I wouldn't want another sparatan to replace Sgt Johnson or the Arbiter.

That would make coop play more interesting if each spartan had a different style of play :)
