Re: Graphics Vs Gameplay - Which one wins I suppose due to the number of MOD's on Half Life 1 and how popular playing Mod's is I guess it's gonna become part and parcel of any incarnation that Valve release. I mean being able to play a version of Natural Selection using all the tools that the source engine has to offer is a major bonus for me personally and I hope they do it when Half Life 2 is released. But it isn't a deciding factor on whether I buy the game or not. |
Re: Graphics Vs Gameplay - Which one wins I think to have a good successfull game you need a mixture of good detailed graphics with great gameplay. Like Max Payne 2 or Call of Duty. They both have good graphics and have awesome gameplay. I recently upgraded to an ATI Radeon 9600 and enjoy games a lot more. The games run smoother and the detailed picture is much more enjoyable to watch. So I'm going to have to vote for graphics due to games such as Half Life 2 could be really unfun if you have video lag. Also if the game has higher requirements then another problem is whether or not the game will be exciting. For example, and I know this is a bit overkill but just work with me, an Atari. If you played Wolfenstein on it would it be any fun with characters that are squares and bullets are little dots. Of cource not. Granted athat Atari was a long time ago but there are examples of games today. I say that to have a truly successfully fun game you would have to have an interesting game with fairly nice graphics. :flag: |
