I finshed EP 1 and I was disapointed with the fact I never got a beer!
I remeber in HL 2 Barney did say somthing about that beer.

Mabey in EP 2 barney owes up and gordon and barney enter the beer and they both get drunk that will be aswome! :beer: :beer: :beer: :p


BTW I missed Lamuar (Dr.Kleners pet headcrab) in EP 1?

No, when you returned to the research center Lamar was with Dr. Kleiner who had a shotgun. :)

In HL1 when you save Barney (the police officer guy) he says this Thanks Gordon, I'm going to have to owe you a beer after this mess." Or something like that, if you actually played HL1 :)

^ No Gordon never got his beer in HL. After you killed Ninhailthan the G-man preseved you than Gordon woke up 10 years later on a train (The begging og HL 2). Also I think that Lamar could be killed mabey a combine solider killed it or somthing.

No, Lamarr is still there in EP1 but I know you don't get your beer in HL1 I just was saying he said it to you in Half life. Also in Blue shift some security Guard tells you(Barney Calhoun, everyone calls you Calhoun) he'll get you a beer. Also, those crystals you destroy at the last boss in HL apparently are the same stuff you push around in the testing lab at the beginning of the game

They are normal Black Mesa security guards, and the line was 'Hey, catch me later, I'll buy you a beer!' before the Resonance Cascade.:)

I wouldn't say it's a propaganda video... for the first time since years!

Apparently, it was nearly two decades as stated in Half-Life 2 Raising the Bar book.

This one in the test chamber actually doesn't only seem to be of the same type (you see quite alot of those crystals in Xen), but also exactly same, missing fourth crystal from Nihilanth's chamber. This theory can be supported with the scientists metioning it's the purest sample they've seen yet and Nihilanth's speech: '...thieves, you all are thieves, you all are...' (although he could be also refeiring to all other things scientists were taking from Xen for experiments).

Don't worry, you will get it: Once Gordon saves Earth, the Human Race, kill all the Combine, and saves the universe.:D :p

I've also noticed Nihiltans crystals also appear in Elis lab in black mesa east, However they look shinyer becuase of the source enigine upgrade.

I would like to point that we can't call all of the yellow crystals the 'Nihilanth's' since there's plenty of them in Xen. Nihilanth had 4 very pure crystals wich one was used in the test chamber in Black Mesa.

It hasn't realy opened any portal. We do know that it wasn't even intended to be there by the Nihilanth, maybe by doctor Breen or the Combine.
During the readings, when it was exposed to some kind of radiation or partiomcle transmition from anti mas spectrometer or other device too it caused or helped to cause the resonance cascade. Besides teleporting random creatures, it allowed Nihilanth to start the regular invasion by sending in Xen arm of the Combine.
