Is it really worth the money?
 

ah look was just wondering as i was gonna buy Half-life2 is it really as good as people say and what is the online community like. Is there plenty of severs and stuff like that cause i dont want to buy a 100 dollar game if it is crappy........ so like could some one tell me what it is like so i can buy it

Most people will say yes, and another most will say HELL NO!

I am the other most. HELL NO! It's good if you happen to be a lucky prick with a leet pc and something to stop bs but i HATE it now.. recently a rather large update came out for it and since then I can't play it because a shitty memory error crashes my pc every time i play. check the steam forums for what i'm talking about. it also demanded the most recent drivers for my video card (Ati catalyst v5.5) and most other games have died since = big reformat time.

i sometimes find HL2 overrated because my com cant take shadow rendering and water reflection...

He's not asking how good it plays in your computer. If your computer sucks, how is that Valve's fault?
Buy a decent machine and then play the game and tell me it's not worth the money.
El_Destructo, having a good PC to run the game is not a matter of luck. Keep posting like that and you'll get in trouble.

I think HL2 is best game I've ever played, I recommend it a lot.

No bad memories about it, Memory error has happened me only twice in 7 months.

I don't think Half Life 2 is still $100. Maybe in some shops, but on Amazon and other places like that its about $50. If you do get it, I recommend you get it from them. I got mine for $60 about a month after it came out and I am very happy with it. Plus you get Counter Strike Source, which is just awesome.

Half Life 2 is one of the best games I have ever played. Don't bother getting the fancy-dan limited edition or anything. I bet you could probably pick it up for about $50 now. Believe me, it's amazing.

Its good. I relly just got it for CS: Source. Good, but not the best game ever.

Get it, there are some good mods comming.

HL2 itself was BADASS. ....But..now I've finished it and uh.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzz o.k all you moders ..get with it. No I dont care to play it again with 'bloom effects". Or play"GarysMod" wich is just a mod that allow you to manipulate the game. CS source is just a huge let down. I want a full blown single or mutliplayer mod built on the HL2 engine. Honestly..after playing the any of the Battlefield series..CS source is like half a game. NIce graphics,but the same maps as the old CS with a facelift. God what a letdown. I swear ..as good as the singleplayer HL2 was ,I'm about ready to toss it in the garbage. Bt the time any good mods for this thing will be out,it will be too late.
