Re: Is it really worth the money? Please do not revive threads, 3 weeks is to much |
Re: Is it really worth the money? Unreal Tournament 2004 is also very old now. Well relatively. Plus, once you get over the initial problems with Steam it's a brilliant game, so Steam dependency is negligible. |
Re: Is it really worth the money? Get it.... BG mod is fun enough anyways... lol You don't have to have a super comp either, I got a amd socket 939 (64) 3000+, 512, and a 6600GT (PCI-E) and on the stress test a get 100 fps with all settings maxed out. More ram and it would be way better. I suggest you look for the best deal on 64 bit stuff, get hl2, and have fun. |
Re: Is it really worth the money? ok you stupid dumbass! ih you have at least 256 MB ram and a shit 128 MB card or a good 64 MB card pick this game the fuck up! http://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/madx.gifhttp://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/madx.gifhttp://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/madx.gifhttp://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/pwned.gifhttp://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/madx.gifhttp://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/madx.gifhttp://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/madx.gif |

yeah if you didn't get my point... if you somehow missed my point, HL2 is a must buy. I have a (piece of crap, i must admit) P4 2.8 GHz, 128MB Nvidia Geforce 4 MX, 512 MB RAM, 17" LCD and god knows what awful motherboard and power supply and a sound blaster (live i think) sound card. I run it @ 16X/8X, high for everything but shaders and wait for VSync and it runs smooth unless i fill the screen with like 99 fucking explosions. GET THIS GAME |
Re: Is it really worth the money? yeah... ok this is an edited version of that last post: GET THIS GAME. IT OWNS! so long as you have at least 246 MB ram and a semi-decent 128 MB card, this should be no problem to run!http://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/smilie.gifhttp://forums.filefront.com/images/smilies/coolx.gif :uhoh:hope i don't get banned for the other 2:uhoh: |
Re: Is it really worth the money? lol. This game will run on a p3 700 mhz with a 128 mb agp 4x with 256 mb ram. How do i know? My dad plays it on his. Only problem is he cant enjoy the video quality that i can. (p4 3ghz, 1gb dual channel, 256mb nvidia 5700LE agp8x, some pos gateway MB) And BTW The power supply doesnt have to be fancy. If it supports the hardware you using then great, if not, get a new one. I have the standard that came with my case. Never had a problem. Only problem was with my compaq...PS fan went out and i had to replace it |
Re: Is it really worth the money? My specs DELL 1.99 Ghz processor 786 or so MB RAM (it also worked with 384 MB) 256 MB GeForce FX 5200 (PCI MODEL!!!) Half-Life 2 runs very well at these settings. Not to mention the insanely f***ing long list of games you get when you get Half-Life 2 Silver. Half-Life Source Half-Life 2 Half-Life 2: Lost Coast (soon) Half-Life 2 Deathmatch Counter-Strike Source Garry's Mod (imo, can be more fun than all of the above combined if you know how to use it) Opposing Force HL: Blueshift Team Fortress Classic Deathmatch Classic Day of Defeat Natural Selection The Battlegrounds Sven Co-Op Day of Defeat: Source (soon) Counter-Strike Counter-Strike Condition Zero Counter-Strike Deleted Scenes I'm not even counting the only slightly decent games that you might enjoy. Half-Life 2 is a package well worth it as long as you don't have an integrated card or a 56k connection. Just this one thing could keep you occupied for YEARS. I'm dead serious. |
Re: Is it really worth the money? Half-Life 2 Silver is definitely a good choice; many games and relatively cheap too. Everyone should sample it. |
