My FPS?

when im playing Half-life 2 my fps (fames per second) dosen't go past 60 it flickers from 60 to 59 is there anyway I can push it higher it seems like its stuck

Have you got v-sync on? If you have that or any similar sounding options on, turn them off.

OR leave vsinc on and stick your refresh rate up to 75.

I wish i had 59-60 fps. I have a good video card ati 9800 pro, but i think my amd athlon 2000+ isn't letting it go to its full potential : (

You are correct. Get a processor that can keep up with the card and you'll be good.
