Stuck at White Forest Inn

Well, that is the name of the building. There is an ambush and you get attacked by soliders and stuff and some big stuff on two legs (the sort that pierced Alex earlier) and I can't continue becauase there is always one of these big things on two legs standing at a place next to the building where I can't see it except for a little moment when I can see a leg and a small part of the body. And they just stand there. When I do succeed in killing it another run comes running down and starts to run around at that part of the building. I have loaded earlier saves but I got the same thing again. Can someone help me?

Figured it out. Shot at the window close to the stairs down to the basement.
