Welcome to Half-Life 2: Episode Two FAQ. Please read this first before posting on this sub forum.
This FAQ covers basic info about Half-Life 2: Episode Two along with answers to typical questions. For forum behavior and usage refer to FileFront Gamingforums FAQ, here you will only find additional rules and suggestions concerning this specific forum.

1. About Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two is a second episode for Half-Life 2, form of direct Half-Life 2 plot continuation. As far as VAVLe has announced it is the central part of Half-Life 2 episodes.
As all new VAVLe titles it requires account in Steam (VAVLe's on line software distribution platform) and Internet connection in order to unlock retail version or download it.
Storyline focuses around further aftermath of Half-Life 2 events and starts in the point where Half-Life 2: Episode One ended. Therefore main hero is doctor Gordon Freeman and game covers main line of plot.

2. Additional information.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two will be released on PC, Play Station 3 and Xbox360 simultaneously. Release date is said to be located in the first quarter of 2007, changed from previously estimated for Christmas 2006. There is no confirmation werther this is a final date or if it will be still moved.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two will include Portal and Team Fortress 2, console versions will ship additionally with Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2: Episode One. After the release all owners of Half-Life 2 and/or Half-Life 2: Episode One will receive minimal technological updates, same which will be included in console versions.
There are three official trailers for Half-Life 2: Episode Two, first is only available as a last chapter for Half-Life 2: Episode One as it was replaced in Steam's my media section by new one. Other two are available on Steam. There is also one trailer for Portal and for Team Fortress 2.
As stated by some VAVLe's representatives, episodes will conclude Half-Life 2 plot but will not put an end to Gordon Freeman's adventure. So in advance of any questions, this is not nearly the end of saga.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two is based on heavily upgraded VAVLe's Source engine, aside from technological fixes and polishes it will introduce dynamic cell shadows, motion blurr, depth of field, advanced foliage & vegetation and cinematic physics.
Half-Life 2: Episode Two price will remain same as it's prequel's - 19.99 $.

5. Frequent questions.

Q: When will Half-Life 2: Episode Two be released?
A: Currently release date is estimated to first quarter of 2007.

Q: What are the system requirements of Half-Life 2: Epiosde Two?
A: They have not yet been stated, but most likely will be higher then Half-Life 2: Episode One's. Only known requirement is the fact that it will require internet connection.

Q: Do I need to have Steam account in order to play the game?
A: Yes.

Q: Do I need Half-Life 2 and/or Half-Life 2: Episode One in order to play Half-Life 2: Episode Two?
A: No, it's a stand alone game, but having one or both will certainly require less data to download, if you'll choose that form of purchase.

Q: Who is the G-Man?
A: Noone knows an exact anwser. There are many clues to be found in all Half-Life games, but none of them give clear (almost none at all) anwser. Therefore this charachter is open to creative discussion.

Q: Can I get Portal and/or Team Fortress 2 separately?
A: For know there is only combined release in VAVLe's plans.

Q: Will Alyx Vance die in Half-Life 2: Episode Two?
A: It is hinted in two official trailers, although it's nothing sure. Now I know that there is more known on the topic, but I can't write about spoilers here. So don't send me angry pms.

Q: Will corporal Adrian Shephard make an appearance in Half-Life 2: Episode One?
A: Nothing is knows except the fact that Gabe Newell likes this charachter and would like to see him included in future VAVLe games.

A: Yes, There will be many new graphical improvements like better HDR, Dynamic shadow's, a new Vortigaunt Skin, & new higher-res Antloin Blood.


Does Episode Two come with anything else?

A: Yes, It come's with the tech demo Portal & the long awaited Game Team Fortress 2.


Release date?

A: Q1 2007


Does it require Half-Life 2 to play?

A: No.


What's the Price for Episode Two?

A: Not sure.

Think you're good? Try completing the entire episode while bringing the garden gnome with you to the very end. This requires true skill. First objective, find the garden gnome. Second, objective complete the game with him in your hands. Be careful not to shoot him into any inaccessible bug holes!

Yeah, I figured that out pretty soon. Honestly, at this point I care more about the storyline than I do the actual gameplay. Maybe I just need to get out more...

GnomeBuddy, i got that achievement without any help from anywhere, and although it is hard when ur getting shot at by a helicopter while you're in the car, but the ret is actually quite easy, just time consuming
