CounterStrike Clans

I am seriosly thinking about joining a Counter Strike clan, if anyone belongs/belonged to a clan or knows about any then could you tell me about them. I would like to know what you actually do in clans, because I've never seen any
CLAN vs CLAN fights (I use mplayer.com)And how you actually join them! :-)
