Comments and Suggestions

Hey gang. This thread is for comments and suggestions related to the Graphics Department. Sotw themes, competition ideas, and other random suggestions for making the Graphics Department a better place are all welcome. The staff will look over all of the suggestions, and if they would benefit the department, we’ll do what we can about working them into our program. Please keep it on topic!

I don't know if it is possible to do this or not (it may be too big an undertaking for some), but, just as my first random idea for the topic (my mind having recently been fueled by two cups of black coffee and some brownies :P) why not have some sort of competition to design new skins for the site? Like I said, probably too massive a project to consider, but felt it may be worth a mention.

Thats a pretty complex thing to do, design a skin for a site. So I doubt that would happen, but thats a great Idea! What about slimming your Idea down to just the banner :P

Not a bad idea. We had tossed around the suggestion before hand. I might make a list of components that would go into a template (buttons, bars etc.) I'll see how much effort that would take to set up.. and if anyone would be interested in designing something like that.

Do you guys do some sort of signature bet? I used to be a member of an NBA forum and we do it all the time. The loser gets to use a signature for a week. Like a really lame theme of a signature. That would give our designers something fun to do.

If I remember correctly we were thinking of something like the skin contest, but it would be something akin to one of a year event. Not to mention we'd have to secure willing code monkeys.

as to the signature bet, there's something similar already in the various battles. Although no one is forcing anyone there to do anything.

Oh, is that so? Ok I'll check it out. Yeah, skins would be good. Anyone in here who can do it?
