i see, i would cant i also look at my own hand and draw it detail by detail?


EDIT: im looking for a realistic hand, wearing a glove since im drawing a type of lightly armored infantry.

You should find pics of an armored glove on the web. They can serve as a guide for the basic shape. You can add the details later.

lol, something ive been doing for awhile. but i just finished the draft of the soldier fingering 2 guys to move forward... it looks pretty good since my entire guy has been drafted out. but they are incredibly small.

There is a measurement for you. Use your fingers , spread them apart like you are saying "it's this big" hold it over the spot, size the gap , move it down to the hand placement and mark the gap space with your pencil holding your fingers to the paper.

Some artists even with years and years of exp need to learn methods to do certain things, and not just skills.
true but if you are going to make a smaller pic it would not work

You just have to change your frame of reference, like say its on his face, and not yours.

That is how I draw lol. I am doing it right now .


It works, but I only do it for realistic drawing .

actually, liquid fire did give me a good idea, i put 2 of my fingers at the guy's chin, then somewhere where his brow is suppose to be, i marked it over the wrist and tried to work around that. now i just have to work with his ring finger.
