Hi I am Lt.Zack some may know of me as the Particle Systems God from the C&C modding community. Anyway this post is just to let all of you who dont know what Global Conflict is, is all about.
This is a browser baised game much like Planet Battlegrounds or Kings of Chaos but will be played much differently. The game is baised off of C&C Generals in some aspects but has it's own elements as well. All players will be able to choose from (at the moment) 6 countries: USA, Great Britian, China, North Korea, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. One thing that will make this unique is that you will actually be building your own base, much like of that in any of the C&C games. Buildings can be upgraded and sold if you please to do so. Also for any who are wondering there WILL be superweapons . There will be many different aspects of play such as Hacking and Covert Operations. Hacking will be a user skill + user stats oreanted system, when you choose to attempt to hack a player's bank account your hacking skill will be tested against their firewall level but as to make it more fun there will be 2 mini-games that can either make or brake your hacking attempt

.
Covert Operations will operate much like any RPG where it is totaly stat driven (so if you arnt that good at mini games or battles then you still have a chance in the spy world).
Finally the battle system:
In Global Conflict battles are waged in a turn based board game style of play. The attacker’s objective is to force the enemy to surrender or to completely destroy all of the enemy’s forces and/or buildings. As the attacker if you win by total destruction of the enemy you are then able to take all cash that player has on hand. As the defender in this situation you will then after the battle have to start over from scratch. THOUGH all upgrades and money in the bank will be kept so starting over wont be that bad as it was when you first started. In the reverse situation the attacker just looses all his units and the defender just wins and gains nothing.
Now in the course of any battle POWs can be taken by having any of your units go right next to any of the enemy’s units. The more units you surround an enemy with the better the chance he will surrender to you. Units with higher exp and power will be much harder to capture then say a Red Guard. All POWs are transferred directly to your prison.
In the case of retreat by attacker, all of the attacker’s units will have to flee from the map as in reach the point in which they were inserted to the battle. In which time the defender can take liberties on those fleeing units. Any of the attackers units caught in a POW situation during a retreat will be more likely to surrender then normally.
In the case of surrender by the defender, The attacker will be given these options:
1)Mercy – leave the enemy alone as they are (leave and do nothing)
2)Pillage – take all money the defender has on hand and take ALL enemy units POW (this will save all of the enemy’s buildings that are left from destruction)
3)Burn – destroy everything the enemy player has (buildings and units)
4)Last Chance – you are given 5 turns to do whatever you like with; take POWs, destroy enemy buildings/units, or if you can destroy their command center during this time (if it is not destroyed already) you will be able to take all money that the enemy player has on hand (not in bank). ALSO the defender will not be able to do anything during the 5 turns you get
Sound like fun? Once I, JohnWE, and BloodMatrix finish getting things put together, tested, and balanced I hope you will come to say the same.
