I tried it in regular RtCW and the gray/clSilver screen is in that version too. Like I said, it is 5-10 seconds depending on how fast I count <grin>. Probably closer to ten. Deleting PK3s doesn't seem to affect it. It could be CPU related I guess. If you send be a faster CPU and I'll gladly try it out!:frog: |
I have a free 450 Mhz! It must be much better than the current you have. :D ww dk |
HA! HA! HA! And your mother uses a Macintosh! :moon: |
What I've noticed is that the lid of the ammo box is clear from the underside. Almost like it's textured with caulk. Minor detail. Never noticed till I've started jonesing that Volley Gun!!! |
My DSL modem is trashed so I probably won't be on the servers for awhile.:((I am typing this at a computer at work right now) |
Well, don't open it up to squeeze 4 more kbps out of it  |
Curious, just had some of my members asking me about new weapons in the new mod, and they are curious if there will be 'throwable' knives? Any ideas on that Hewster? |
WildWest feedback Hewster, Two things. First, I fixed this a while ago on my system but it finally just occured to me to post it here. With an Exe named WildWest and a directory underneath it named WildWest, you cannot create a windows shortcut to that directory. If you put this in the target (with quotes): "C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition\WildWest\" You still get a shortcut to WildWest.exe. Could you rename WildWest.EXE to The-WildWest.exe? Second, and I'm not sure about the need for this one, would it be advantagous to put a ww_ prefix in front of all of the PK3s? Then there wouldn't ever be confusion about one PAK0.PK3 versus another... |
no throwable knives Dragon.... maybe in the future.. I believe the idea of throwable knives is better than the reality ? ie wouldn't actually be very practicale weapon in-game. Queeg ? my shortcut to my WildWest folder works ok ??? "C:\games\Return to Castle Wolfenstein\WildWest" I don't understand you problem with that ? are you saying that when you create a shortcut to your wildwest folder, that it runs the wildwest.exe ? what OS are you using ? what confusion is there with the pak3's ? I've always followed the convention of using mp_pak, as I know the wolfmp.exe looks for files with names that start with this (thats why the sp files arn't loaded when you run multiplayer) When 1.4 is released I plan to have all files in 1 or 2 pk3's, as this will temporarily solve the pk3 limit bug in the wolf.exe too. I'm using XP Pro. When I do a New Short cut on the desktop and put in "C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition\WildWest\" It changes it to "C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition\WildWest.exe" Even if I edit the link back to the right text, it changes it back. WildWest.exe is in "C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition". I'm trying to get in to the WildWest directory underneath that. If I do start run and: C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition\WildWest It runs WildWest.exe C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition\WildWest\ It runs WildWest.exe "C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition\WildWest" It runs WildWest.exe "C:\Program Files\Return to Castle Wolfenstein - Game of The Year Edition\WildWest\" It opens the directory. In the end I first renamed WildWest to WW.exe. I also created a file called Startup.Bat in the directory C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and put this in it: subst W: /d subst w: C:\Progra~1\Return~1\WildWest Now Drive W: is my WildWest directory. The confusion over the Pk3s is my own and is only because I've been exploring them. I have seen RtCW improvements that had readme files explaining "If you already have a file named PAK1.PK3 sav this file as PAK2 or 3 etc." So I thought making everything WW_*, like the edit pak ,might prevent someone replacing one of your files by mistake. I tried it and it still plays fine. There's probably no real advantage though as this would rarely be a problem... |
