ah here's what ya need to do if you want to have both the beta 1.6 and 1.5
(my bad I have mentioned it to my testers but forgot to mention it here)
- rename you're 1.5 version of wildwest directory from wildwest to wildwest1_5. If you've already removed it you can redownload it, go to step #7,1. Then reinstall 1.5.
- download and save the install program (I've a folder in my RtCW folder named downloads for all my downloads, just easier to find that way)
- Install wildwest 1.6beta. Note, if you have older version of wildwest (even if you've renamed the folder it will see the wildwest executable in RtCW directory. don't worry about it. Also to note if you're running a version of windows that does not have WINDOWS as it's root main directory you may need to download and follow the instructions for the linux/mac zip file
- Let it overwrite the files it finds
- now you should have 2 folders of wildwest in your RtCW directory:
- to run the 1.6 beta just hit your wildwest launch button
- to run the wildwest 1.5 version:
- rename wildwest to wildwest1_6
- rename wildwest1_5 to wildwest
- hit wildwest launch button
- to go back to the beta version just rename in oposite direction:
- rename wildwest to wildwest1_5
- rename wildwest1_6 to wildwest
- hit wildwest launch button
You should note that the version of wildwest you will be running will always be labled
wildwest and the version you are not running will have a
1_5 or
1_6 after it.
There are a few minor glitches that we are working on but this is basically the final version of 1.6 (we are aware of the various glitches). Queeg is currently working on moving the list of new features from the design team area to a more public forum and when he does so, he or I will link to it here.
In general there are new maps, a return of an old favorite. and a new game mode, team death match. as well as other nifty touches and improved performance.
