Hewster I need help

so I've done a little mess with screenshots posts, but it finally works.
I won't write about my problem, the screens are saying themself, just look at them.
I have these artefacts only on Town, Harmonica, Hacienda and Canyon, I also remember that the same situation took place in Mine map.
All Gringos map are free of it.
So, what should I do

That has something to do with your graphic card. I guess you have an Ati Radeon card. With my old Geforce2 I never had this problem. But with my Radeon card I also have those frames.
I think there is an older thread where people talked about this, but I´m not sure.

This is a problem with ATI video cards. I have one in one of my computers and I get the same thing. You are seeing the borders of the skybox, which is the box that the entire map is inside of. The only thing you can do is to try to update your drivers and see if it fixes it, or buy another video card. It does this with RTCW too, not just WildWest. I am not aware of any other way to get around it.

I have latest ati drivers, I never noticed it on RTCW or ET, also I am wondering why it is not seen on Gringos map.

Ahhh yes!! The nasty ATI card!
I would guess you have an ATI Rage 128 PRO, or close to it. It was the stock card that came with my Dell, and with many other computers I would guess. Yes, that is the skybox, and no, no amount of drivers will help. I just went through all that. And that's just the beginning. You may also see that supposedly transparent things - like the edges of bushes, or the surface of water, are solid to you. Don't hide behind them, everyone else can see you! It took me a while to figure that one out!!

I would recommend replacing your card. If the skybox is the only problem, you could just turn off the sky (it looks like you are playing at night, kinda). This is why you don't see it in Beach, as the sky is dark already. I don't remember the command for turning off the sky - now that I have a better vid card, I don't bother turning it off anymore.

Oh, the bushes look like this...

Bushes in Harmonica or giant mutant starfruit? You decide! :uhoh:
Wouldn't YOU try to hind behind those????

If it doesn't appear in ww_battlecreek, it's probably because of fog. If it doesn't appear in ww_beach, it's probably because of the version of Q3map2.exe I compiled with. It was supposedly fixed in the version I used for that. :)

Only if you compiled with a special option but then that option broke stuff on NVidia cards. So I doubt think you used it... Ydnarr made a valiant effort though....

Yeah, it's a minor bug in my estimation anyway. Annoying, and very visible, but minor. Maybe the reason beach doesn't do it is because it's a simple sky shader. It only has one image, as opposed to an actual "skybox".

Sorry Queeg, I didn't mean to dismiss what you said. I forgot it was a compile option :)
