Noob that I am to RTCW, and I only ever played it like 3 times, I never really noticed that there was a backstab feature. I was just reading some doc and found out about it. Does WW have that? I don't remember ever sneaking up on someone with the knife and seeing the backstab icon.
Yes it does. Well I think it does. Im not exactly sure since its been awhile since I've played WW. But I do remember from a long time ago that RTCW Multiplayer has this feature.
it does but it seems slightly smaller than the zone in RtCW. (either that or I've been aproaching from the wrong direction slightly) A knife shot from behind will deliver 100 hps but only when you see the icon. It still won't kill a doctor with one shot but...
bigest problem is that folks always give away their position by swinging too soon and that swish is extremely noisy. (was acutally tracking a player on other side of wall by his swishes and nuked him with a moltov lol)
Yeah it takes about 3 hits for a medic to go down. 1 backstab and 2 normal hits with knife, or 2 backstabs. Last time I remember knifing someone was when EL-Angel-Eyes I think it was, was on the mounted gatling gun at the saloon, and I sneaked up behind him and knifed him hehe .

I did test this, and the icon does show up, but it seems pretty faint. It does, in fact, do 100 pts damage. I had sneaked up on Corp Jones in the beach map, and shot him multiple times in the back of the head with the Colt, but he did not die. I must have been aiming too high or something.
Another technique to add to my repertoire...hahahah
Yes it was me you knifed in the back, quite a while ago I might add.
Now a days I tend to keep an eye on the door as well as what im shooting at.
I didnt know there was a backstabbing action in RTCW though. Now that would be worth getting into WW if possible.
WW with so many players at once has created some great opportunties. In BC, the banditos running up to main street were not paying attention to what was behind them, and I was able to get two on seperate occasions when they stopped to pick a target on the street. Another good reason to play a soldier - that extra running speed allows you to close the distance handily.
I don't think I ever noticed the stab icon though. I just knew about it from RtCW.
Please note that this may have been the only time I've managed to do it sucessfuly - I hardly ever think to pull a knife when the shootin' starts...
I think last night was a total breeze, myself, Hewster and a couple of other were running around on the Hacienda map knifing everybody we could on the bandits. I haven't done anything like that for ages, that last time I think was on my last bout of Counter strike. Some damn fine battles last night.
