The cable modem and router are two different animals. I have an RCA cable modem where the cable coax comes in and then transfers the signal to a CAT-5 cable. From there I have it running into a Linksys router where I then distribute it to 3 PCs. I have no problems with AA:O. :furious: :furious: |
Re: *Beware!!!!* Well if you want to get specific, I got a "Motorola SB4200 SURFboard Cable Modem" and it was $140. I have a router too and I haven't lost my connection from any servers since 1.9 was released. |
Re: *Beware!!!!* well, i've got the basic modem that comes with comcast/ATT cable with a linksys router |
Re: *Beware!!!!* Get a new modem - that's all that I can tell you. Search for prices on www.pricegrabber.com . |
I've got a Motorola SurfBoard BF4100 cable modem to a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router w/4 port switch and have 3 puters on it and have only been dropped once on a leased Mountain Pass SE server right before the Official Servers came up. But since the Official Servers have come up, I've never been dropped and can see all the servers on the list. Only problem I have is all the NONE servers popping up too. Gets very aggrivating having to scroll down past them. |
Re: *Beware!!!!* The none servers are servers that have not been authorized yet. But the point is that any motorola cable modem will work with aa without you getting dropped. |

Re: *Beware!!!!* Lol it closed all the ports! Well that's good if you ever get a virus that deletes firewalls/anti-virus. |
Yea LOL I got a 2 messages today saying RE:AAMEBER I opened it scanned it and sure enough it was a virus. |
Re: *Beware!!!!* No shadow, it did not close all the ports just the ones that ALL my games seem to use. so i could still use the internet, but not any of my games worked. Shadow, do you ever play AA or just live on the forum here? |
