Good sniper only servers [1.9] Hey, I wondered if anyone knew of any good sniper only servers for 1.9? I like playing sniper only to train my sniping skills. :feedback: KAH |

Re: Good sniper only servers [1.9] Well, you'd have to turn off punkbuster to find any. Seeing as they would be a cheat server. I don't see what going against other snipers can help you with killing regular soilders that move completely different then snipers. There kind of 2 different birds. One moves around alot shoots alot. The other is prone and sits there. Sniper v Sniper its just a matter of who sees who first. For regular games its shooting the guy on the run. |

Re: Good sniper only servers [1.9] I think sniper only and PB work together, as PB just removes illegal cheats, not cheat commands enabled by the server. I just like playing sniper only now and then, but I guess nobody knows about any servers? KAH |

Re: Good sniper only servers [1.9] I used to play on those servers, but I can't find them anymore, not since a few months :-( If you ask me the admins weren't that though, they always gave a warning first (at least the times I played). Some people just can't resist using lame cheats like God and Endround tho. KAH |

Re: Good sniper only servers [1.9] I just read all the 3 pages of the thread about the random PB kicks. There have been no DEV (or any sort of official) update since the first day, only two posts by [DEV]Abraxas (the first one, then one about a different problem). This has to be SCI messing up as usual, because if it wasn't, why does it only happen on Leased servers, not on all servers? I hope Even Balance and SCI hurry up a bit, I'm not touching no leased server until I see the DEVs saying it's safe again. BTW, in the thread about not modifying system files, they say you can modify INIs as much as you want. KAH |
Re: Good sniper only servers [1.9] Well, I believe that it was [Dev]Kermit who said that on the forums. He said that it probably is a problem with the ini's. They weren't sure and they haven't replied to that yet. |

Re: Good sniper only servers [1.9] Maybe he meant the INIs that SCI have? In any case, INIs are there to be edited, right? If something bad happens if you edit them, then that setting shouldn't be there in the first place. I hope they fix it soon. KAH |

Re: Good sniper only servers [1.9] Okay, I looked at a bunch of threads and asked in the IRC channel. Nothing about the problem in the forum (not even a progress message). Nobody in the IRC channel knew any more either, not even the AGA staff (just told me what I knew from [DEV]Abraxas's post in the forum). I guess you must've misunderstood or been mislead by someone. In any case, a lot of the other threads with posts from [DEV]s and moderators say that you can edit INI files without any problems. KAH |
Re: Good sniper only servers [1.9] How many times should I repeat this? A developer said that there was a wrong setting in punkbuster, and that SCI couldn't fix it, Homelan was trying to get it fixed and the problem itself kicks people with edited .ini's for unknown reasons. |
