Angry This "bug" is terrible...

I've encountered a bug a while ago, and it is a bad one. I have a screenshot of it so I could show you guys exactly what I mean, but image hosting is not any friend of mine.

Anyways, here's the situation:

I will be playing AAO, doesn't matter which map (it's irrelevant, or rather, it applies to all maps), and all of a sudden, the game minimizes! And of course, by the time the game window is restored, the OpFor usually has found me and killed me quite easily.

But over the course of the last month or so, I seen what exactly happens. I find that when I manipulate my in game character with the mouse (walking, turning, "free"-looking), I will notice my mouse cursor would eventually appear in the top corners of my screen. If that cursor appears and I try to shoot my rifle, POOF , the game minimizes, and of course I will get killed. There's no need for me to tell you guys just how annoying this is, and I'm glad to finally have been able to "get it off my chest", and hopefully a DEV team member will look into this for me. If any DEV member would like to see a screenshot or two to see what I mean, I could e-mail to you.

As for all of you other players out there, no, [rant] I will not change my set-up at all, because this is the same set-up I've had for every 1st-person shooter I've ever played for the last 10 years or so [/rant]!

Anyways, thanks for your input...

I've had it happen to me too, but for me, it was a program running in the background and a popup appeared, such as the McAfee Security Center sliding a window onto the desktop. Every time it does that, it allows me to play, but my cursor appears. I have to disable my Security Center to ensure no pop-ups occur and instant messaging is disabled so new messages from people dont popup and anything that pops-up advertisements as well.

Thats my guess before reinstalling aa......

if you have a sound blaster audio card with the creative taskbar on, that might be your problem

Well, I have never had the same problem as you, but I think I might have an idea on what u should do. Do you have norton anti virus or internet security? Well, if you do, you have to disable ati virus to play, not just configure it. Hope that will help!

No, I don't have any anti-virus programs, nor do I have any programs running at all, when I play AAO.

This problem only started after I installed the 1.7.0 patch.

Ok. try playing in a window instead of full screen so it wont minimize.

Lol but if u dont have any anti-virus programs, ur screwed if there is a virus in ur comp.
