Critical Error

For some reason, I keep getting a critical error when i play AA:O. I get the same error messages on 2 different computers. I have had this problem every since 1.4 and I have no idea what causes it, but here is the message:

No Label

OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 995 MHz with 382MB RAM
Video: NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 100/200 (4345)

General protection fault!

History: UObject::ProcessEvent <- (AGP_HUD Tunnel.AGP_HUD2, Function AGP.AGP_HUD.Destroyed) <- ULevel::DestroyActor <- (AGP_HUD Tunnel.AGP_HUD2) <- UObject::ProcessEvent <- (HumanController Tunnel.HumanController2, Function AGP.HumanController.Destroyed) <- ULevel::DestroyActor <- (HumanController Tunnel.HumanController2) <- UPlayer::Destroy <- UNetConnection::Destroy <- UObject::ConditionalDestroy <- (TcpipConnection Transient.TcpipConnection0) <- DestroyServerConnection <- UNetDriver::Destroy <- UObject::ConditionalDestroy <- (TcpNetDriver Transient.TcpNetDriver0) <- DispatchDestroy <- (23929: TcpNetDriver Transient.TcpNetDriver0) <- DispatchDestroys <- UObject::PurgeGarbage <- UObject::CollectGarbage <- Cleanup <- UGameEngine::LoadMap <- AttemptLoadPending <- TickPending <- UGameEngine::Tick <- UpdateWorld <- MainLoop

I also have all the lastest drivers and all the Windows updates. This happens on all maps, not just the tunnel as listed above.

Post it on the AA forums.. not on the AAFiles forums... They have a Tech Support section there... Looks like a graphics problem.. but I am not sure

eek!!! I had a Geforce 4 MX and it sucked like hell! I would get that same message 99% of the time! ...and the 1% would be like a VERY LOW detail game!!!
Now, i have a Platinum Geforce 4 - TI 4800 SE! Now, THAT :rock::rock: !!!

i'ge got an geforce 4 TI4200 and its perfect!

Crack_Mite May 6th, 2003 07:53 AM

Yeah, a new puter with a G4 Ti4800 would be nice, but i just bought a new house and cash is a little tight, so i have to deal with what I got, know what I mean?

This puter is better than the one i was running on though. Was on a AMD K62 533.

hhhhmph , i think its something to do with ur DIRECTX
try reducing ur HARDWARE SOUND ACCELERATION LEVEL to : Standard Acceleration , that solved alot of probelms for me :) , and try re-installing ur directx , or get a new version :)

I've got DirectX 9.

The other puter I mentioned, is a P4 1.8, 512 MB, and the same video card I have expect in the AGP version, NVidia GeForce 2 MX200 32MB. But, it has Winblows 98SE. I still get the same problems with it as I do with the one at my house. Too bad I can't play on my laptop.

I always keep my computer updated with the latest drivers and Winblows updates, expect for Winblows Media Player 9.

By looking at the error, it shows that the Tunnel map was still oaded for some reason. I was actually trying to go to Mount McKenna when the error happened. Seems that it didn't unload the Tunnel map. That's just my guess.

azzkiker May 7th, 2003 10:13 AM

Winblows! LMAO! :lol:
Also, u might now the problem, but...how do u fix it???

Crack_Mite May 8th, 2003 10:36 AM

That's a very good question. I have no idea how to fix it.

azzkiker May 8th, 2003 12:32 PM

lol, i should think upgrading ur pc parts or re-downloading! :D

ussj2_vegeta May 9th, 2003 05:17 AM

Problem solved for me,i restarted my pc and next morning it all worked perfect:D.

Simple as that eh??? :cya:

Crack_Mite May 9th, 2003 07:07 AM

I'll try the re-d/l thing. But why would it do the same thing on 2 different puters if I d/led it from 2 different servers? I usually get it from FileFront cause they seem to have the fastest servers so far. Anyone know of another good fast server?

azzkiker May 9th, 2003 10:27 AM

Yep!...http://www.hypernia.net/downloads/americasarmy/

Fast, steady and FREE downloads! (No register or wait-in-line)

It works better with www.flashget.com the best DL manager out there! :D
