About the 1.6.0 Patch & Full Version

There is no official 1.6 patch. Many users have had success using this patch, however the only "official" way to upgrade is by downloading and installing the full 1.6 game. This patch will not be supported by the AA development team.

The file we´ve had up since noon PST march 17th is the one pileplanet and fileshack have up too. We took the file down for a while because of the uncertainties and the lack of information from the army´s end.

The file we and militarysim hosted was uploaded by one of the members of the development team and soon thereafter mirror by other sites (or uploaded directly).

Anyway the patch seems to work just fine and there´s still no patch available and there prolly won´t be. Right now, I´m posting the full 1.6.0 version so anyone that wants to be 100% sure they got the right goods, should download those whopping 373.85 MB

Full Version posted, I got it through FileShack from the official site and it works fine for me! It is unfortunatelly around 375 Megs :( But you can always burn it on CD :)

If u got it off http://ecommerce.amercasarmy.com then wouldn't it be illegal to put it here?? Because we won't pay for it from here so it will be like a warez file!!! :eek:

We got it from FileShack, it's still uploading though. FileShack got it from Akamai.net / ecommerce.americasarmy.com
And the $2 is for the service, not for the patch. Yet it remains strange they premiered the patch through a paid-only service.

But I´ll post here once the full version is up

Why did they charge $2 for the FULL 1.6 install???
If its for the "service" then its ok to distribute the file free isn't it?

I don´t know @ $2, however, to pay $2 for a game that is and has been free up to this point I suggest people don't whine about it :)

i downloaded 1.6 full from fileshack and it is laggy as crap.i type something in and it doesnt pop up till like 15 seconds later.they rushed 1.6 and it is just as big of a disaster as 1.2.0. and i hope they fix it as quick as 1.2.0.

.....btw, some ppl are saying that the 1.6 FULL is laggier than the patch! Is that possible??? Because lag depends on your connection right?

no they really need to fix stuff for some people and they need to make an OFFICIAL RELEASE of 1.5 to 1.6 instead of some beta crap

is the beta/leaked version of patch 1.6 (downloadable at www.aafiles.com) legal or not?
can i use it forever?
and if not, can i "trow" the REAL patch 1.6 over the beta patch 1.6??

i got the "patch" from here and it works great. i usually had a 150-300 ping, now i got 50-100 on Homelan servers with a full server. only times it got choppy were when i was looking through the sniper scope, unzoomed and got hit in the face (i kid you not) with a flashbang. i was laying on a ledge of the bridge so i tried rolling right, but pushed the left one instead...i laughed, other people laughed, must remember to change the buttons farther apart:o

other than the smoke and flashing everything was very smoooooth. i like the new patch. some people dont like the bullet effects. now i can snipe from near safety on bridge because of the penetration.

i WILL be downloading both 1.5 and 1.6 full, just incase the 1.6 messes up the stuff i have already

Much quicker than downloading the unoffical patch as the servers waay faster, even tho the file size is bigger.
Mind you, if you got a liddle cash to spend spare, just pay 2 dollars, come on, you got the game free

Dude, im not sure if its legal for you to request cash for that. But you can say it's to pay for bandwidth i guess....

guys from ARMADA were getting tons of lag and kicks from the server we were on last night. you could tell, they are usually very good at what they do, but last night, nothing.

NOTE: I am not on ARMADA, i played with them on bridge last night. they usually help the team abunch, but not last night

no just saying some of the full d/l people had trouble. they are the only ones i know of however. the kicker is thaht they paid the 2 bucks (so they say ;) )

Maybe paying'll become a thing of prestige....and when that happens...

which is better....patch..or full install.. The honest answer is well... whatever works for you! I have heard People having problems with both and people having success..So if one works for you...stick with it!

No-one...as of yet!...has complained about the patch! Some have complained about the full install!
So, basically........

If u already have 1.5.0 and its working, get the 1.5.0-1.6.0 PATCH!
If u DONT have 1.5.0 FULL, Get the 1.6.0 FULL!

i have found the bad part about the patch i got...i cant play RT...anytime i try thhe game locks. prolly need more power in the PC. oh well, im content that i can play MP and the others better :D

its prolly just the crappy parts in my PC. i ran it with no probs in single player, just cant join without locking up

I have the 1.6 full and I actually have problems with staying on for 2 rounds or more. I'll get in, play 2 rounds or so then in blue writing, loading comes up, the level exits and im left with the Americas Army loading splash. This someti=mes happended in 1.5, but i uninstalled it and did a fresh 1.6 install. Any help?

I used the patch, now when I try running a LAN server, even when you disable authorization, and set it as LAN, it spits up the error about the server not being authorized, and then boots you from the server. Anyone else having this problem. Also, any solution?

Yup happened to me once of twice, but ive stayed on more than about 9 rounds, but them i got bored,

Man the new maps like insurgent camp and the mountain voy thing in one big messy bundle, i was on a unoffical server and we had a temporary truce and had a massive tunnel fight, ( if anyon e used nades they got kicked by admin)
Great fun, and actualy doesnt sway too far on either side,
Great fun sniping or close range.
And very few totally new players as you gotta of passed flight school
:)


One bad point on update, the m4 is WAY too accurate now, ii can take peeps down in one hit from ages away without cheating.
But apart from that its a good patch, but i still havent worked out nade aimig yet...:(

One nasty problem on the Radio Tower thing is that if the def team is loosing bad, you can shoot the aid workers, get some ROE but tie the game

you do know about the new bullet effects right? bullets can go through walls and doors, also ricochet.

one problem i have is on bridge, you ccan shoot the cars with the saw and kill people behind them...thats not supposed to work, i think

Cars arnt exactly strong, least not to bullets.
Think about it cars can take some minor impacts but a bullet could go through it (think about hitting a knife on a piece of butter, first with the handle (nice splat) and then with the edge of the blade... slice):frog: :frog: :frog:

The patch is good in some ways
 

The patch is really good on everything but this new goddamned honor system.

I use to be able to get any position by just waiting, and eventually, it would give me the position, even if I had to wait for a few games. No matter if it was the Squad Leader, Fireteam Leader, M203, Sniper, or SAW position.

Now, I can't get anything as long as somebody with a higher honor is in that position. I've seen people with honors as high as 93 just hogging the Squad Leader position on FLS for as many as 50 or 60 games. This, pure and simply, is cheating, and this form of cheating was put in by the developers. So if they are going to allow this kind of cheating, why don't allow the others as well.:mad:

Could the people that developed this game at least think about something for once before they put it in.:mad:

I agree. Couldn't the folks with higher honour get up to just the leader postiions faster?

I disagree! What is the advantage of "working hard" and gaining honor then???

BTW...Highest AA honor is 92! U can't have seen 93! :frog:

Listen Numbnuts, I saw a character with 95 honor. His player name is Detjus. If you don't believe me, be a good little smuck and hang around the FLS servers, you'll see him sooner or later.

Yep! There's also another 95honor guy "(vibe)Foufoulala"!!! :D
But at the time of my last post....they were 93! :D
