A little helping hand...

I'm offering my help to anyone who wants it, one on one, with issues trying to play the game, troubleshoot errors, etc. I'm also willing to help anyone one on one who has questions about the Max-FX Tools. I, as well as many others, are still learning about these tools, so I absolutely don't know everything about them, but I will try to help to the best of my ability. Forums are great, but I also know it's frustrating to try to fix a problem with something, and you sit there and wait for someone to come along with the right answer. That's the reason I'm offering this help.

I think it'd be great to have someone there to get through a lot of the troubleshooting steps quickly, and when it's discovered that the problem could be something more serious, then present it to the forums where a wide variety of people can help. I've worked tech support before, and to an extent, still do. I've done computer builds, LAN/WAN design and implementation, and custom application development. I'm also a gamer, and have been for quite a while. I understand hardware, and how the operating system interacts with it. I also know how DirectX functions, and how it addresses those hardware pieces, whether it be DirectDraw, Direct3D, DirectSound, or DirectInput.

I'm not trying to take away from the forums, and I'm not trying to act like I know more than anyone else on these forums. Lord knows that's highly unlikely. All I know is, I see a lot of people here that are running the game and enjoying the hell out of it, and I see a lot of people who, for some reason or another, can't run the game but really want to. I also see a lot of complaints about tech support. I'm only offering this as a way to help some people play a great game.

Oh, and I do NOT work for Remedy, 3DRealms, or G.O.D. Not that I wouldn't want to.

I know there have been a couple of people trying to get me on MSN, and I have been having trouble all day getting connectivity. If it's not my Internet service being down at my office, it's that the MSN service itself is down. You can send me mail via the above hotmail account, if you like. I'll still check that pretty regularly. Just be sure you put Max Payne in the subject, otherwise I'll probably think it's spam.
