Was Pc Gamer smoking crack when they wrote this?

Well..Unfortunely I don't have Max Payne yet, but I have been hanging around the forums for some time. One of the main things I wanted too try was the Editor, because it was being called "The Easiest Editor of all time" but then I started reading all the forums posts about the editor being super complex. Which made me pull out my May 2001 issue of Pc Gamer, and reread there preview.

Simple Mission design tool that lets people construct huge areas with the simplicity of a drag and drop paint program. Dynamic objects are a cinch too create, and Scripted events takes seconds too link up. All other editors need too be taken out too pasture
From what people are posting, they can't even build a square room, and run it. Hmmmmm...whats the deal?

They probably haven't experience the actual editor back then. And they were saying what they were told by developers..

No, the editor really is that simple. However it takes a while to get working.

It's not that hard to figure out the basic stuff. Half an hour of playing around with it and I'd figured out how to make a room and texture it. But I was hoping it'd be a real dumbed down editor. Something like the house builder in The Sims.
