A little help?

I've started the game over in Hardboiled mode, but nothing seems different. The manual says healing is slower now, but it seems the same as before, and I can't really tell if Max can take less damage. Is there a for-sure way to tell if you're doing Hardboiled mode?

i think enemies can take more damage
