Finished the game but not without lockups, I had a few early on, but most seem to be from saves, but the last part of the game with the helicopter was a nightmare. Lockups left and right. Such a shame, all one has to do is read the many, many problems people are having and all the different types systems, and one realizes why XBOX will mean the death of PC Gaming as we know it. Companies can not afford to spend so much money on a game and then have it not work, because there are just to many different types of variables to contend with. With XBOX, all a gamemaker has to do is make it for that machine and thats it. They wont have to worry about conflicts and stuff like they are having now. I am debating on whether to take the game back to the store, or keep it in the hopes Remedy will come out with a patch that fixes the lockups. Such a shame, the game is really good, but with the constant lockups is more aggravating then fun.
Well think of it.. don't have crashing problems with old nintendo games do ya?
That's because they don't have to try and workaround problems that some drivers may have, or certain versions of os', etc.
It's all the same stuff, all they have to do is make the game for one system.
I certainly hope all these great games for the PC continue, but from a developer side, I'd have to think going for something like the XBOX or another game console would be the best way to do it.

The X-Box? you have got to be kidding me...There will always be some idiot kid, or some gullible parent who will buy a console..and the inevitable always happens.

Sure the X-Box is cool and all, but where were we when the Playstation came out...The PS2? Where are we now? 299 dollars for an unupgradeable box? it'll be a 50 dollar yard sale item in two years....
But, how will you feel when you buy the XBox and then in a years time all the new PC games are p*ssing on your bonfire graphics and gameplay wise when the XBox can't handle it?
PC's should and hopefully will rule the roost, most PC games now are easily fixable if you have any bugs. Anyone remember having to get old Dos games to work or the first Windows ones? If this is going to be the case, how come the SNES isn't the primary gaming console now?
pc upgrades are gettin very cheap, and its a fact that x-box sucks my ass.

1. you can't cheaply copy dvds right now, so you have to buy them.
2. minimal crashing, console system.
3. same hardware, less config/driver errors. this is why i hate pc gaming, seems you always have to "fix something", download a driver or patch or something.
bring on the xbox, and the gamecube for that matter!
