Join Date: January 15th, 2001 Status: Available Rep Power: 33 | Perhaps there was a decision to make the game open ended enough for if there was demand for a sequel, but I can't imagine there would be because Messiah doesn't seem to have reached a large enough audience to justify a follow up.
I don't have any actual information about it, but I get the impression that Messiah got a luke warm reception at best... you only have to look at this board and see that there simply wasn't the interest in Messiah that there has been in many other sequalised games. I realise that it wasn't a game based on online play, but a successful game will gain a large enough fan base for a few more posts... like the Max Payne forum for example; nearly 21,000 posts already, but Messiah has only 11,000
I think I'd buy a sequel, but I doubt there'll ever be one
