Yea, it would be nice if you could at least walk and crawl... but hey, usually when i play i'm all-out offense. I don't care how many guys are in a room, i'll burst in with bullet-time anyways (it's fun)

It just sort of shocked me that the ability to walk was not in the game. With all the time spent on photographic realism and you have to run by it.
I love the action sequences and running around is a blast, don't get me wrong. But there are parts of this game that an ambient silence fills the scene and forboding clues are offered to hint at an upcoming slaughter. It is times like this when it would be nice to slow down and enjoy a few moments walking toward the uknown at a slow cautious pace.

I don't know if this is any consolation, but you can't walk in Vampire: The Masquerade, either, unless you click at a point that is particularly close to Christof. Even then he more or less sneaks rather than full-out walks.
Still, I have to admit it is a bit troubling to know that Max can't walk.
the game was never about sneaking up on people, common think about it, u have ur daughter/son and wife killed, and ur mad as hell and wants to get revenge asap, and u wish to walk? hes lost his mind, sorta. lol
besides, the game was never supose to be realistic, bullet time, stunts, max could live on painkiller, common!
At first it felt odd to not be able to walk (also, normally I bind "walk" to shift, so I found myself instinctively hitting it and launching into a shoot-dodge for a few minutes until I got the hang of it), but I got over it. I can still sneak up on people and beat them about the head with a lead pipe.
I hope that in future patches will add a option to simply walk. It would be much cooler to just walk slowly with bullet time enabled around the corner and then give 'em hell.
Walking and crawling for the purpose of stealth would have been nice.
In reality, preparing for combat, setting up ambushes etc. is all done silently. I guess the Remedy team would know this, since Finland has conscription, which would at least have provided them with basic combat tactics and knowledge.
Sure, this is no military sim. but having the suprise on your side is always a benefit, no matter the situation.
Concerning the possible incorporation of walk, crawl in future mods, I think it should be pretty pointless, since:
A) Enemies don't give a damn about the noise you make.
B) Baddies engage you when you either reach a scripted point, gets within LOS or enter their magical "sneak proof" radius of super perception (that is, within a predetermined distance they WILL shoot at you, no matter what).
I think changing B would be too much work, since this feature seem to be so fundamental in the engine. Perceptive would also have to require some AI code, instead of the "trip-wire-logic" enemies now have.

Well I guess I'll be a hard-@$$ and correct you. The russians are on your side...but ah well...
