Deadeye vs Pyromaniac I can't decide about which one to use in my custom. Pyros are great because they come earlier and they set fires Deadeyes seem like they cause more damage and they have that plague that surrounds the target Which do you prefer? |
Well, you can use them both, and one of my customs does. I like the Pyromaniac better due to damage it causes, becuase it is a longer range unit anyway, and the more damage those deal the less likely the melee units will have a heck of a lot to fight. Pyros also come out a level sooner. You could look at the spell you also get. I wanted both Dragonfire and Demonic Rift, so I bagged on the level 5 flier entirely. It's nice to be able to cast artillery units quickly AND to follow up Demonic Rift with Dragonfire. That was my thinking, but it cost me a lith-raider. ------------------ Questions are a burden, and answers a prison to oneself. |
...last time i checked, the deadeye had longer range..... |
thats what i thought! |
how about damage wise though? Are they about the same? |
The Deadeye does 720 damage vs. 960 for the Pyromaniac, but it seems to have a slightly shorter reload time and it has twice the range of the Pyromaniac (200 m vs. 100 m). ------------------ Sherlog [Personenkennzahl 250866413515 / Stefan Otto / SO1801-RIPE] |
hmmm ... this makes the choice a little harder ... range vs damage |
getting pyromanics earlyer could win you the battle. but its all up to you and how you play |
from what i know the deadeye does 540 damage over 10 seconds and reloads in 6.2 sec(this means that the shots overlap......) but it also prevents mana regenration which is perfect for wizards.. the pyromaniac does 960 damage over 5 secs and reloads in 7.2 sec dont really know the ranges except that the deadeye has the longest in the game along with boulderdashes(200m) |
