Deadeye vs Pyromaniac

the maniac is better than the eye but rift is usually better than dragonfire. sometimes though, I use eyes to take out liths without fear of counterattack (hard though)

morons.... deadeyes, stop all mana regen from any source (even hoars and liths) and stops normal health regeneration, have a longer range and the poisen damege stacks plus they are very powerful gaurdians since they have the vampire effect, demonic rift supports your creature and one spirit will leap out per enemy unit, so he can have 50 guys and one spirit will jump out for each.


choose one... choosing two isnt really worth it unless ya start at level 4 or 5

maniacs come early, do lots of damege and work will with pyrodactles oil, but..... they have a shorter range and they dont have the vampire effect that deadeyes have. they dont stop all the mana regen and health regen eather...... its hard..... i think its better to choose one, since ya need a good melee.. neithers.... dragon fire is crap compared to most spells at that level but the maniacs make up for that.

I do agree with this,but I also do belive that it is all in the way you play.

One more thing to consider -- deadeyes are only 2 souls at level 5. That means you're lacking a 3 soul creature with which to desecrate, while your opponent probably has one.

Granted, this will hardly ever have an actual effect, but it's something to think about.

I'm thinking of using both. When I did my single player campaign, I had both of these units and they were great ... I'm going to try it an see what happens ... thanks for the tips!

Deadeye and Pyromaniacs are quite destructive combined togetter

Burn and poison in the same time a unit

. I like the Pyromaniac better due to damage it causes, becuase it is a longer range unit anyway,

someone quoted this earlier pyromaniac range is crap compared to deadeye
well here are the other level 5 stuff
seraph (killed 1 shot of lightning
gremlin (ditto)
icarus (easilly counter with fireform)
and pyro has sommat cant remember but probably easilly counterred with fire form

go with dead eye
also demonic rift rules on that level anyway

yeah and another thing dead eyes only cost " SOULS and i meen look how bad seraph and the others are and they are 3 souls
man with dead eyes you cant go wrong on that level
